23 June

hrm.. it's the rod for the pb'o6 seniors.. haha.. came down at 8am and was quite glad all the sec3s are there.. haha anyway got down to business to sort of clear the prefects' room.. and wow.. did in an hour plus.. good job man :).. anyway time for the prefects to rehearse their performances (the year4s had to do the same since we didnt have time to prepare yet) anyway it was practise practise practise all the way until 1230 before the seniors start coming to school.. haha.. then had the perfomances

year1s.. some skit involving new gessians... bullying by other gessians... some prefects and bla bla bla.. haha and they sang girlfriend!!! :)

year2s did a joint performance with the year3s.. hrm.. was something about juniors disrespecting seniors during a camp and all.. and they sang care bear =.= haha!!

last but not least the year4s!! we acted in a skit, some singing contests to be precise.. hrm.. funny singings.. lots of nonsensical talkings and everything.. haha sorry guys but i thought the year4 performance was the best!! :P

anyway had pizzas for lunch.. oh my.. i didn't get any though.. but went to tiong for lunch with some of the exco and yr3s along with some of the seniors... haha.. tiring day....

to seniors: hope you guys enjoyed the ROD performance.. and really hope to clarify things with you guys.. just want to add, if really you guys want gan eng seng to move on.. as an sl president and head prefect i hope you will support both these organizations, because eventually they are the ones moving the school.. prefects are not working alone anymore.. i think if we are jst talking about who's in power.. it will be meaningless.. yup.. sorry if i offended you all by saying these

to year3 prefects: good job today.. keep it up, i was really impressed with the way you all took initiatives today.. however keep in mind about what the seniors about you guys ya? :) way to go!

16th June

hrm.. went to scholl for preparation of ROD for the senior prefects. however today i wasn't the main personnel.. haha everything is handled by the exco.. cool :) anyway we had a somewhat rigorous pt i guess before moving on to a sort of icebreaker game... ("who's my cute partner???") did lots of running.. and stupid game master call me to play then i have to run around like a mad dog chasing all the juniors... after that had a headache.. so went to the prefects' room to rest while the year 1, 2 and 3 prefects discussed about their ROD performance.. hrm.. next activity was NORTH SOUTH EAST WEST CAPTAIN'S BALL heard of it before? haha.. anyway was fun!! cos i also join after a while.. and when i became captain.. walau.. chaotic man.. whenever my teammate get the ball EVERYONE will crowd around me.. my goodness.... last activity was dog and bone.. quite a fun game as well but had to stop as it was raining.. then i briefed the prefects further about their discussion before dismissing them.. after that the year 4 prefects went to lunch at griller... while discussing OUR ROD performance haha... anyway after a while saw sheryln, kai qi, eelin, jessica and mattheus.. turn out the gals wanted to take neoprint while mattheus came to join us... then suddenly the gals came out to me.. asking me to take neoprint with them......................... shyt... anyway dun want to say about it.. went to cut hair and then went back home.. haha.. tiring day...

SL CAMP!!

yo guys!!! its finally... the day I have been waiting for!!!! Gan Eng Seng School very first Student Leaders' residential camp!!! wow... damn bloody excited about it... haha... could even wake up at 6am when i only slept at 2am!!! haha... anyway hope all the hard work by the sl excom will pay off in this camp...

Day 1
got to school early together with the sl excom and had to tie lots of loose ends.. haha anyway nearing 8pm campers started reporting and i had to make an appearance to welcome them... damn.. it was so awkward.. haha... i really had no experience of being a camp chief before and so didn't know how to set the tone... did some admin stuff after which i did a very BORING briefing.. haha i know.. anyway lucky mr. chan helped me to set the tone and from then on it's all up to me!! haha... the sls' started with their ice breakers (which did not break any ice :p) followed by station games... i can see the through station games some of the group are starting to gel together (i know it's a bit hard as they all come from different backgrounds) anyway lunch was next followed by amazing race... though some hiccups occur but everything went smoothly and then there was water war!!!! probably the most chaotic and enjoyable activities to all the sls including the facilitators.. haha!! dinner followed and there were perfomances before the night activity.. haha.. i know lots of you suffered the night activity BUT it's fun right???? :D... after which we have to decide whether to continue watching movie as it was already over time and quite late... but anyway the sls made a choice to watch.. so first day sleeping time for campers: 3.15am, sleeping time for facilitators: 4am... sleeping time for me: 4.30am.. (still got some stuffs to do lol)

Day 2
facilitators had a hell of a morning with pt by mr. ganesh and mr. chan... well.. it kind of works though as it woke us up as well as the campers (we were shouting like mad.. haha.. sorry campers) anyway after our pt, angeline led the campers' pt while i did some preparation for the later activities. today the campers started with jumping squares and bouncing dodgeball, which most of them claim to be very fun!!! (sorry for lack of time given campers..) anyway the core activity of this camp: SL SHARING SESSION followed... hm the activity that i dread most.. cause i expected everyone to start falling asleep... BUT WOW... the campers were still all very enthu!!! haha.. not until my solid half-an hour talk though.. lol.. anyway moved on with lunch before coming back to ava to discuss about some events in semester 2 before moving to their very last activity at 2pm: tower construction... with only newspapers and masking tape.. haha... group 5 came out with some real strong tower that can hold up around 2 liter of water!!! BUT BUT BUT mr. ganesh came out with a bottle holding up 5.7 liters of water!!!!!!!!!! OMG!!! haha so cool... anyway after area cleaning and debrief campers were all dismissed while facilitators had a brief AAR meeting.

to coaches: thank you for your help in the planning as well as activities in the camp!! we greatly appreciate it

to facilitators: WELL DONE GUYS!!! CONGRATULATIONS AS THE CAMP WAS A SUCCESS!!! thanks for all of your support that this feat was achievable, really wanna thank you guys from the bottom of my heart!!!!

to campers: hope you guys enjoyed the camp!!! haha.. not forgetting hope you guys learn a lot from the activities. and and and the performances were IMPRESSIVE!!!! it was so unexpected that you all could come with such performances without the aid of the facilitators... WELL DONE GUYS!!!! (GIVE YOUR SELF 1 SOLID SL CLAP!!! HAHAHHAA) anyway really really really hope you guys learn more about yourselves, fellow sls, and also leadership qualities. :) and lastly thanks again for participating in the camp and i hope that you guys will be more forthcoming in student leaders stuff in the future!!!

to group 5: CONGRATS as you guys have won the best group award!!! WELL DONE :D

after thought: i guess this camp was a great success despite some minur hiccups and time delay.. but it has provided me with some real situations where i can develop my leadership qualities further.. :) IT'S A FUN, ENJOYABLE AND YET FRUITFUL CAMP!!!! :D
